Assalam Alaikum MatchmakerMatchmaker, These are the same conclusions I came to when wanting to make Hijrah. Maybe it was and is Allah plan to keep us here in America. Allah u Alim. It's a tragedy that in 2008 we as muslims still can't get it together. Also I would like to thank you for your information on soy products and the effects of it on growing beards. I'm also looking for a spouse. It is not save being single.

as salaamu alaykum,

Qur'an 40:40. "He that works evil will not be requited but by the like thereof: and he that works a righteous deed - whether man or woman - and is a Believer- such will enter the Garden (of Bliss): Therein will they have abundance without measure.

as salaamu alaykum,

qur'an 2:281. And fear the Day when ye shall be brought back to Allah. Then shall every soul be paid what it earned, and none shall be dealt with unjustly.

Assalaam Alaikum Sis Suzii, I feel the same many times but what are we to do. It's possible that if enough of us make hijrah we can help make difference. Remeber Allah subhana wa ta'ala said he won't change a condition of a people until we change the conditions of ourselves. When we take one step Allah makes two  an when we walk he comes swiftly. But I hear you load and clear Sister. Don't let the Shaytan kill your desire in anyway to be closer to Allah.

As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu

Shukran for the reply on the forum topic (muslim father kills daughter).  I agree yet struggle within myself when it comes to hijrah.  I guess it depends on where one goes, their intention, what they expect and really what one makes of the experience.  I've just heard too many not so positive experiences on the reality of living in Muslim lands lately which has killed my desire and intention to strive for what I know in my heart is best.  May Allaah guide us, aameen.
