More Changes, Ho Hum

A'salaamu'aleikom Gentle Reader.

Circumstances seem to have changes a bit recently, on the home front that is. As previously explained, my stepson was evicted by his mother because he critisized her demmands that he call her new partner 'father". It now seems that I have gained yet another stray kid. jeffery's friend has been evicted by his Mother, for similar reasons believe it or not.

I have given him sanctuary in my home. he is a likeable kid, 15 years old, excellent student etc, but unfortunately comes with all the rejection baggage. On the up side, he has a job part time and is contributing to the household finances.

He has an enquiring mind, asks lots of questions, about life, my experiences and lately about Islam. I am not sure where that will go though, he loves his guitar too much and at 15 is, like jeffery, quite accomplished as a musician. I suppose my problem is trying to get them to put the instruments away by 10:30 at night. Ah well they are just kids, and school starts in a couple of weeks.

The way I figure it, I am like the farmer who just plants a seed. If it is the will of Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, He will water that seed, and another will harvest the fruit that seed will bear.
